About Me

My Mother had an incurable illness and died when I was 12 years old. My Father, unable to cope, left myself and my older brother with his parents who lived in the same village.

Fortunately we lived in a rural setting and this is where I discovered my strength. I would take my Uncle’s dog ‘Prince’ for a walk, not sure what breed he was but he was like a Black Wolf. We would walk for miles (because we could back then) across fields, by the river and I would climb the pear trees for food. Spending time in nature I found it nurtured my soul, I could laugh, cry and feel freedom, yet held by the land and nature itself. I explored bushes, blossoms, water, river weed, and river creatures like Bullheads and stick insects, also I learned to swim in the river (wild swimming). It felt wonderful on my skin, the coolness, the tickly river weed against my body and the current assisting me down river. I would make ‘potions’ with blossoms but I had no idea what I was going to do with them. I just used my Grandma’s pickling jars much to her disgust as it didn’t leave many for her pickles for Christmas.

My working life has been very people orientated, living with and looking after my Mum who was unwell, brought out the Nurse in me. I became a Healthcare Assistant working for Social Services on the Community helping those with Physical & Mental Health issues, also for the NHS within a Hospice and Hospital setting.

When my children were old enough I took up Netball which I thoroughly enjoyed and I realised very quickly the benefits of massage as my muscles ached. This inspired me to explore the world of Healing and Listening. I pursued a course in Massage and continued to complete my Diploma in Counselling. This led to working for the NHS in the Mental Health Sector for 10 years. It was both an honour and a privilege to be alongside someone and ‘hold a confidential and safe space’ for them to work with their inner stories. Whilst working with Complementary Therapies in a Mental Health Environment I discovered Drumming.

This opened my mind to the power of the Drum and how it links with the Theta brainwave, enabling a sense of release and relaxation. Reading about Indigenous tribes I learned that they hold Community Counsel, honouring the land, Ancestors, Mother Earth and through the use of the Drum and Medicine Wheel this offers the potential of Inner Exploration. The Tuning Forks help to release Nitric Oxide within the body, this encourages the blood vessels to expand and bring a deeper sense of relaxation.

I pursued my learning along the Shamanic Path linking the land, the Directions and the Drum. This felt extremely comfortable learning and brought back the memory of when I used to walk the land with Prince and how the land & nature offered me the opportunity for ‘inner healing’. Reflecting on that ‘inner’ trauma, I have always had an interest in Vibrational Healing, my belief is that trauma can become stuck within the meridians of the body and with the aid of vibration/sound, like the use of a Rattle in a healing protocol, it offers the potential for release should the person wish to let it go. This led to training in Healing With Tuning Forks.

Putting all my skills and interests together I realise I have a passion for ‘facilitating’ a process that Enables, Encourages and Empowers a person to explore an inner healing in a Sacred and Confidential Space using the Drum and Tuning forks. Just as the land and nature offered me.
